Do you have interest in Nordic Coaching (contract work)? QVN is looking for enthusiastic people to lead and assist in delivering Cross Country Ski lessons to the Lumsden and Regina area.

About Us
Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic is dedicated to fostering a love for cross-country skiing among all ages and skill levels. We’re looking for enthusiastic, contract-based Coaches and Assistant Coaches to lead and support a series of Nordic ski training sessions. Depending on contractor availability and registration, programs may be offered weekly or in multi-day camp formats.
Key Responsibilities
• Program Delivery:
• Lead or assist with learn-to-ski programs (youth & adult), introductory sessions, and intermediate technique courses based on your experience and interest.
• Practice Planning:
• Develop or assist in creating a basic practice plan for each session.
• Emergency Preparedness:
• Maintain an emergency action plan for all sessions, ensuring participant safety.
• Session Execution:
• Deliver high-quality instruction and coaching, adapting to weather conditions and participant progress.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Preferred (Not Required): Completion of the CCS Community Coaching Course.
• Mandatory Upon Selection:
1. Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check if you are 18 years of age or older.
2. Completion of the CAC Coach Initiation in Sport online module.
3. Completion of the NCCP Introduction to Community Coaching online module.
4. Completion of the Safe Sport Training online module.
Desired Skills & Attributes
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with youth and families.
• A positive, patient, and encouraging attitude.
• Basic knowledge of cross-country ski techniques (classic and skate).
• Ability to adapt coaching methods for different skill levels and ages.
Compensation & Contract Details
• Rate: $15–$35 per hour, based on experience, training, and specific program responsibilities.
• Schedule: Flexible, depending on contractor availability and program registrations.
• Work Environment: Outdoor setting in cold weather conditions; must be prepared to work in winter elements.

New SnowCat!
We purchased a new SnowCat (maybe SnowKitten) a 2007 Bombardier SW48 with attachments. Our club has made a significant investment in maintaining our trails and complementing our snowmaking abilities. We are excited about the upcoming season and the future of our sport.
Let the Snow Making Commence
As of today, we have kicked of snow making for the year, and the first time ever at QVN! Through the hard work of many volunteers, the help of many organizations/members in donations, we have been able to ensure our trails are skiable early in the year and will stay long into the new year.
